Evergreens UK has been joining in the celebrations at Heathrow Airport, after a pop-up garden, complete with grass, plants, rosemary bushes and jasmine, opened in Terminal 5.

The London airport has created an area to give passengers "a relaxing space to de-stress" before embarking on a flight.

And the Rutland based artificial turf specialists have played their part in making life a little easier for travellers, as they supplied their LazyLawn artificial grass for the new facility.

“It’s a fresh idea for a relaxing zone before heading off on a flight,” said Andy Driver, marketing director of Evergreens UK.

“Many of us have been a little fraught before a flight, and airport terminals can be a little intimidating at times – so having this ‘de-stress’ area to go and chill out is a fantastic idea.

“This is another high profile contract for Evergreens UK in what is a tremendous year for us – indeed, we were part of a London 2012 project at Heathrow Airport, when we supplied the artificial grass for their reception area at the Olympic Terminal during the summer.”

Ben Crowley, from Heathrow, said: "We want to help our passengers start their holiday the moment they arrive at the airport, and make sure their time away is as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. It looks fantastic.”
