Choice Hotels has invested £150,000 in a new restaurant at The Cliffs hotel on Queens Promenade, as part of an on-going investment programme in its five-strong property portfolio.
A favourite with families, the 163-bedroom hotel has created a stylish and contemporary dining room with three separate spaces, each with their own look and feel, giving extra room between the tables and offering more of the popular sea view and window seats.
Styled by Cleveleys-based interior designer, Gail Hunt, the dining room has new soft furnishings, rich wall coverings in purple and metallic tones and contemporary light fittings.
The restaurant has introduced a buffet-style service with the installation of three marble plinths, which will hold the self-service starters and desserts.
Eddie Nelder, director at Choice Hotels, said: “Blackpool is a competitive marketplace and our hotels enjoy a loyal clientele. In order to keep them coming back, and to attract new visitors, it’s essential we invest in the properties and the staff.
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve our surroundings and service and moving to a buffet-style service allows guests to help themselves to as much or little as they like. Our team of nine chefs and five porters cooks everything from scratch and this system makes their hard work pay off.
“I see an investment in the hotel group as an investment in Blackpool. We are passionate about the town and work hard to attract new visitors to the resort – and keep our guests coming back regularly.”
As well as The Cliffs, Choice Hotels also owns The Claremont and The Viking in Blackpool. The company has invested more than £500,000 over the last year in upgrading the bedrooms and public spaces of all the properties.
