Barr + Wray is diving into Indonesia as the aqua-leisure provider wins new business in Bali totalling almost £500,000.
The pool and spa specialist’s Hong Kong office has been operating since 2011 and has just won four contracts on the Indonesian island.
Renfrewshire based Barr + Wray was recommended by spa consultant AW Lake Spa Concepts, which resulted in the award to supply and install brand new spa facilities at the recently extended Westin Nusa Dua Hotel on the southern coast of the island.
Visitors to the spa will be able to enjoy separate male and female wet spa areas which will both feature salt saunas, steam baths, VIP steam showers and vitality pools which will include relaxing massage features and wet wall features.
A UV filtration system has been installed as part of the £335,000 contract, which will not only keep the pool clean and free from infection but will improve the quality of the water and reduce the facility’s carbon footprint.
Work on the new spa installation is due to start in the next couple of weeks and the whole hotel’s refurbishment will be completed just in time to host the Miss World contestants this September.
Barr + Wray has also won three pool and spa design contracts in Bali totalling more than £110,000 including the design of an outdoor hydropool experience at The Laguna Nusa Dua.
The company is also designing an underground wet spa facility for The Legian Hotel in Seminyak which will feature hot and cold plunge pools, a sauna, steam room and hammam.
Derek Barton, managing director at Barr + Wray Hong Kong said: “It’s tremendously heartening to win business in new markets and we are looking forward to delivering this high end spa.
“Visitors will be able to experience a luxurious spa journey with these new features and it is a complete change for the hotel.
“Picking up another three other design contracts in Bali highlights the opportunities that exist in the Indonesian market.”
Since opening the Hong Kong office, Barr + Wray has provided spa and pool designs and installations across China including Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Zhuhai, Wuhan, Lijiang, Sanya and Hong Kong.
