Keeping patients and staff safe within mental health and acute health facilities remains a key priority and to simplify locking procedures a leading designer and manufacturer of anti-ligature products has created a new addition to its range of removable door stops, which is set to revolutionise security.

Intastop Ltd, has launched its Secura Stop Multilock Removable Door Stop where one operation opens multiple locks, to particularly support vulnerable patients in the mental health sector and those that care for them.

“Our new Secura Stop Multilock has just a single point of operation streamlining locking and unlocking procedures and allowing quicker, easier access when required,” said Sarah Barsby Marketing Director Intastop Ltd. “It allows staff to deal with confrontational situations with ease and confidence maintaining the safety of patients and themselves.”

The multilock has a simple installation process and can be fitted to new or existing doors with ease. Its single secure point of operation permits very quick access in the event of a barricade (less than 5 seconds) and will play a vital part in reducing patient suicide. Furthermore, the secure multi point locking system has a patent pending for it unique design.

“With 1 in 4 people in the UK expected to suffer some mental health issue during any given 12 month period, research into ways in which they can be cared for safely and securely is imperative,” said Sarah. “Our product development always has the end user in mind and our Secura Stop Multilock complements our existing range of security and anti-ligature products designed specifically for the mental health sector.”

The multilock is ideal for bedroom and communal doors in psychiatric accommodation, nursing homes and many disabled facilities including toilet doors. It is FD30 Fire Rated tested to European Standard EN1634-2000 and Anti Ligature tested to DHF TS 001:2013 B4 (0.5mm wire test).
