Construction of the £150million redevelopment of Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield, North London is due to start in the spring 2016 following the granting of Planning Consent by Enfield Council’s Planning Committee.
Enabling works are under way, with completion of the Healthcare Building planned for summer 2018.
The major capital redevelopment, delivered by Integrated Health Projects with healthcare architects IBI Group, TB&A, Thomasons in their design team provides the Royal Free London NHS foundation Trust with a new build five storey acute hospital including an urgent care centre, inpatients, eight theatres, day surgery, outpatient ambulatory care zone, imaging, diagnostics and supporting facilities.
The design has been developed with consultation with all departments and clinicians, allowing the design team to lead the way with innovative healthcare design, comprising of a number of flexible options to allow the Trust to embrace service change in the future.
IBI Group has reviewed the whole estate to provide the Trust with a value added, future proofed solution. This includes releasing funds from land sale and integrating housing and a new school into the plans to support the local community’s infrastructure.
Working in collaboration with the Trust, the design team has also allowed for the future development of a new energy centre and multi-storey car park.
