Icopal will be at Ecobuild 2014 showcasing its extensive Eco-Activ range.
As part of the CompetentRoofer stand (N440/41), Icopal will bring the latest in roofing innovation to this year's exhibition, including the company's Noxite de-polluting waterproof membrane, which is now available in dark grey as well as light grey.
The Eco-Activ range of products, which along with Noxite includes products such as Icosun Console and the company's Green Roof systems, work actively with the environment to help minimise the impact of a building by reducing air pollution, cutting CO2 emissions and improving energy efficiency. As a result new-builds and refurbishment projects, whether domestic or non-domestic, can meet the increasingly challenging environmental targets specified by evolving Building Regulations.
This year sees the welcome addition of a new version of the world-renowned Noxite product, launching in a new dark grey colour. Noxite is a roofing membrane, which has significant benefits to the environment and air quality, by efficiently cleaning the air of NOx particles, including NO2. The surface granules of the membrane are coated with titanium dioxide (TiO2), which stimulates the process of converting NOx particles into harmless nitrates. When ultraviolet radiation from the sun hits the titanium dioxide, it releases energy to break down the NOx particles resting on the surface of the roof, before they are washed away by the rain or blown away by the wind.
With a full range of intensive and extensive Green Roof roof systems, Icopal are keen to demonstrate the positive impact on sustainability and biodiversity. A green roof system’s many benefits include an ability to help reduce flood risk by attenuating storm water and also improving air quality by filtering out particulate pollution.
Also on show will be Icopal's Icosun Console, a mounting system used to support the framework designed to hold rigid photovoltaic panels in place. The lightweight Icosun Console does not compromise the integrity of the waterproofing membrane because it incorporates an integrated factory sealed waterproofing detail which covers the fixings making them watertight
Neil Harrison, Technical Director at Icopal comments, "Our Eco-Activ range continues to be a key focus for us, especially at this year's Ecobuild. Our unique roofing solutions enable specifiers, contractors and their end-clients to improve the long-term life of a building, whilst meeting additional duties of care around energy saving and environmental impact. As part of the CompetentRoofer's stand, we will be looking to really demonstrate the added value Icopal can contribute to a building's design and performance."
