Founded in 1864 by Archibald Maclaren, and his wife, Gertrude, Summer Fields Preparatory School is one of England's most admired private educational facilities.

An independent day and boarding school for boys aged 8-13, Summer Fields is set in the picturesque rural outskirts of Oxford which boasts 70 acres of beautiful grounds.

Following the decision to redevelop the sporting grounds in January 2011, Tobermore, the world class paving and walling manufacturer who supply landscaping materials throughout the UK and Ireland, provided a selection of paving products used to create the enchanting landscape of Summer Fields.

The fantastic White Horse Contractors Ltd, based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, were chosen as the contractor for this project whereby they created significantly improved sporting facilities for the school. This involved the redevelopment of a number of tennis courts, the construction of new artificial sports pitch, the first of its kind at Summer Fields, and a purpose built hockey facility, which will be used for tennis coaching and competitions throughout Summer. Additionally, White Horse Contractors Ltd developed new all-weather athletic grounds, a cricket square and a water feature and wildlife area.

Tobermore's Tegula block paving was the perfect choice for the enchanting period style building and the refurbishment of the landscape at Summer Fields. With a natural weathered stone appearance and a timeless elegance, Tegula enhances both appearance and character of any building, and works particularly well with the historic style of the grounds of this school.

Tegula in the beautiful blended tones of mellow Bracken, subtle Slate and rich Heather are featured alongside Tobermore's Country Kerb in a striking granite aggregate finish. The exposed granular surface of Country Kerb emulates the unique aged appearance of traditional granite kerbs, while maintaining the benefits of modern concrete kerbing.
