Ibstock reveals enhanced Linear brick range
Ibstock, the UK’s largest brick maker, has enhanced and extended its distinctive Linear brick range to offer the architectural market increased choice and improved design options.
For 2013, Ibstock has further developed the Linear range so that it now offers over 50 bespoke product choices to architects and specifiers seeking striking and distinctive finishes for their building designs.
The Linear range has a well-established reputation as an elegant, high performance long thin brick that can offer flexibility in bond pattern and joint size while helping turn an architectural vision into reality.
This long brick offers a dramatic and elongated effect which accentuates the linearity of the façade and has been specified on a number of memorable building exteriors across both the public and private sectors. The Linear range contains varying brick dimensions of 240mm (I) x 102mm (w) x 90mm (h) minimum, up to a maximum length of 490mm.
The enhanced range includes two new and completely unique product textures, coarse grained and fine grained, as well as having the flexibility to blend bricks for a bespoke finish.
The range has five product groups: Atlas, Birtley, Laybrook, Lodge Lane and Cattybrook – each offering their own distinctive design solution. Birtley, for example, offers waterstruck linear bricks that benefit from a 15mm joint due to its rustic nature. The Atlas brick can be specified in a wide range of solid colours, allied to a range of texture finishes such as natural, lined and riven.
Andrew Halstead-Smith, Group Marketing Manager for Ibstock, says: “We are delighted to have dramatically strengthened our Linear brick offering to the marketplace. Linear provides architects and specifiers with the option to juxtapose the use a traditional building material with a modern, contemporary design style, and has already helped to create some outstanding building exteriors across the UK.
“It can be an excellent and competitive alternative to other cladding materials for facades, and has the added benefits that clay brings, such as performance, durability and the all-important sustainability. Add in the flexibility of bond pattern, joint size and blends and we believe the enhanced Linear range will continue to make its mark as an innovative brick of choice for those seeking to create desirable lines as part of an overall architectural solution.”
